Why it's free

Because finding an email address shouldn't cost you anything

Most email finders meter you: a few free lookups, then a signup, then a plan. Name2Email works differently, and it is fair to want to know why before you install anything.

Who pays for it

Name2Email is built and maintained by Reply, a paid sales engagement platform. The extension is how a lot of people meet Reply for the first time, so it is worth running as a free tool. It is not a trial, and there is no paid version of it to graduate to.

What it doesn't ask for

No account, no email address, no credit card, and no sales call. You add it to Chrome and it works in the next compose window you open. Nothing is held back behind a signup, because there is no signup.

How it works

From a name to the right email in seconds

No new tabs, no dashboards, no exporting lists. Everything happens inside the Gmail window you already have open.

1

Type a name and a domain

In any Gmail compose window, start a new message and type the person’s first name, last name, and their company domain, like “Alex Rivera @acme.com”.

2

See the likely addresses

Name2Email instantly generates the most common email patterns for that name and domain and drops them right into the address field as suggestions.

3

Hover to confirm the real one

Hover over each suggestion. When Gmail recognizes an address, it surfaces the person’s name and photo. That’s the one that’s real. Send with confidence.

Where it falls short

Because it works from naming patterns rather than a database, it can't promise every address. It is at its best with company domains that follow a convention, and weakest with small teams on free mail providers or one-off addresses that follow no pattern.

That is why the hover step matters: Gmail, not us, tells you whether an address is real. If none of the suggestions resolve, that person probably isn't findable this way.

Features

Everything you need. Nothing you don’t.

Name2Email does one job and does it where it matters: a fast, free way to reach the right person.

Right where you work

It lives inside your Gmail compose window

No separate app, no second tab, no copy-pasting between tools. Start a new message, type a name and a domain, and the suggestions appear right in the address field.

  • Works inside the Gmail you already have open
  • Suggestions drop straight into the “To” field
  • Confirm the right person without leaving your draft

Literally the life-blood of the cold outreach I do. It's way better than the paid tools, and it's free. I'll always be indebted to this company.

How it compares

How it differs from the paid tools

Name2Email is a small extension, not a data platform. If you need enrichment, exports, and a CRM sync, a paid finder is the better fit. Here is the honest trade-off.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you might want to know before you install.

Yes. It’s free to install and free to use, with no search limits and no paid tier gating the core feature. It’s made and maintained by Reply.io, which is why it can stay free.

No. Add it to Chrome and it works immediately inside Gmail. There’s no signup, no email verification, and no credit card.

Name2Email suggests the most common email patterns for a name and domain, then lets you confirm the real one by hovering. Gmail surfaces the person’s name and photo when an address is recognized. It works best with corporate domains and, like any pattern-based finder, can’t guarantee every address, which is why the hover-to-confirm step matters.

When you hover a suggested address in the compose window, Gmail shows the contact card for that address if it recognizes it. The suggestion that resolves to the right person’s name and photo is the correct one.

Name2Email generates likely addresses from public naming conventions rather than selling access to a scraped database of personal data. It runs in your browser alongside Gmail.

Yes. Install it from the Chrome Web Store and keep Chrome updated. If a suggestion ever doesn’t appear, reload the Gmail tab and start a fresh compose window.

It’s built by Reply.io, a sales engagement platform. Name2Email is their free tool for finding work emails, with no strings attached.
